Summary

In Chapter 4, Sue-ellen does get Wallace a new phone for Christmas but she warns him repeatedly not to show the phone around the neighborhood, knowing people will try to steal it from him. She also warns him not to tell everyone about the game console Rockit gave him, saying someone will break in to steal it. She begins to cry and Wallace patiently holds her, waiting “while she cried herself out” (27). Sue-ellen's girlfriend, Yvonne, arrives. She is carrying two trash bags filled with Legos. She works at Tuttle's Toy Emporium and she says that they were about to throw the Legos away. Wallace is amazed and enthralled, and finds he literally cannot speak.
