Summary

In Chapter 31, Christopher Bradenton, who was dying of the flu, was visited by the man he knew as Richard Fry, also known as Randall Flagg. Flagg asked Christopher about the car and papers that Christopher was supposed to have for him. Flagg got the car and headed south.

In Chapter 32, Lloyd was trying to get one of the legs of his cot free. As he worked, a prisoner in another part of the jail called for his mother. Lloyd had last seen his lawyer three days ago. The judge was too sick to hear his case. Lloyd had bribed one of the guards to tell him what was happening and learned that people were leaving Phoenix because of sickness and death.
