Viv remembers she forgot to turn the vacancy sign back off and thinks perhaps her visitors are simply travelers looking for a place to stay. Viv pulls the door open, but leaves the chain on, and begins to explain that the motel is closed. However the man standing there knows Viv's name and says he has come on behalf of the owner. The man says he and his companion work for an insurance company and have come to do an inventory before the owner arrives the next day. The man says he has credentials, but wants Viv to let him in first.

Viv lets the men in and quickly regrets her decision. One look at these men and she knows they are not insurance agents, but are criminals.....
