Part Two, Them, Chapter 7, 'Come Into my Parlor...' Summary

When Viv arrives at the Dreamy Pines Motor Court she only intends to stay for one night. However, Mrs. Phancey explains to her that the receptionist quit and they need someone to man the desk for the remaining two weeks left in the season. Thinking the money will be a nice supplement to her travel budget, Viv agrees. The job is easy and mostly pleasant, though working with the Phanceys is quite a challenge. Mr. Phancey has his eye on Viv, thinking she might be a pleasure in bed and Viv is constantly pushing him away. Mrs. Phancey is demanding and rude, constantly pushing Viv to do chores that are not part of her job description.
