Point of View

The point of view of The Space Between Us is third person. The author alternates between Bhima’s perspective and Sera’s perspective. The Prologue is the exception as it is told from the point of view of an observer. The purpose of using an observer’s point of view for the prologue is to describe the scene of a woman standing on the rocks looking out to the sea without informing the reader of her identity. As such, the reader is left to wonder if the woman is Sera or Bhima until the end of the novel.
