Summary

Sera gets into a cab to pick up Maya. She is glad she does not have to go to the slum to pick her up. She is picking her up at the bus stop. Sera had gone to the slum once when Bhima had been ill. Though it was not far from her apartment, the slums felt like a whole different world to her. It was filthy, and people followed her out of curiosity.
