Chapter 3 Pages 258-276 Summary

Eli falls asleep. When he wakes up, he finds Warm burning the bodies of the dead brothers in the fire. Eli finds out that Charlie took Morris for a swim to help with the burning sensation Morris is feeling on his legs from the irritation from the formula. Eli urges Warm to take him to Charlie and Morris. This causes Warm to realize that Eli doesn't trust Charlie.

Warm scratches his legs. Eli notices his skin is darkening. Warm also has blisters forming on his legs. Warm asks Eli if he thinks Charlie is going to kill Morris. Eli says he doesn't know. Warm asks Eli how they came to work for the commodore.
