Chapter 3 Pages 198-216 Summary

Charlie and Eli arrive at the Black Skull, which is the restaurant where Morris and Warm had lunch together. Eli and Charlie find the proprietor playing a game with a woman where he tries to guess the hand the woman holds a small piece of cloth. When they ask about Warm, the proprietor says Warm ran out on him after they made a deal.

Eli and Charlie guess what their deal was. They also reveal that he made the same deal with the man he brought her for lunch a few days earlier. When they return to their horses, a man is looking at Tub's eye, saying that it needs removing, he say the animal doctor will do it for twenty-five dollars.
