Chapter 2 Pages 141-155 Summary

Eli comes across a girl that is seven or eight. She's crying about a bad dream she had the night before but is remembering now. She says it's about a dog, pointing at a three-legged dog across the street. She tells Eli that he was also in her dream. She says in her dream she brought some poison to give the dog, which she hates. She says an orb starts spinning beside her and the three-legged dog starts to whirl in the orb too. When Eli turns around, the dog is frothing at the mouth and the dog is no longer breathing. Eli decides it is time to leave Mayfield for now.

Eli goes back into the Mayfield Hotel to look for Charlie. Eli finds Charlie and tells him that the bear's pelt is now missing from Mayfield's parlor...
