Chapter 18 Summary

Quoyle drove Wavey to the library on Tuesdays and Fridays, which were the only days it was open. During these drives he learned that her son, Herry, had Down syndrome and that Wavey loved him dearly. In the morning of the day he drove Wavey he would clean his shoes and pick out a nice shirt. Driving her excited him even though he didn't want it to.

On one Friday he went into the library with her and Herry. He picked out an armful of books. On the way home they stopped to pick up Quoyle's girls at Beety's. They met Wavey for the first time. When they arrived at her house she invited all of them in for tea and cakes but Bunny and Sunshine were fighting so they decided to do it.....
