Chapters 9-12 Summary

Chapter 9

Selene visits Rand and reveals that she is the Forsaken known as Lanfear. She says that she loves him and will help him destroy the other Forsaken. She speaks of two sa'angreal, the most powerful ever made, one usable by a man, one by a woman. With them, she and he could challenge even the Dark One.

Chapter 10

While they are talking, a Gray Man sneaks in and tries to kill Rand. After Lanfear says that she had nothing to do with it, Rand exits the room to check on the Aiel that were guarding him. He finds them all dead, and trollocs fighting with Defenders of the Stone throughout the stronghold. Rand leads them into the fight, with Lanfear behind them crying out that he is a fool to use a sword when he can do so much more...
