Chapters 5-8 Summary

Chapter 5

Two members of the Black Ajah were captured in the fall of the Stone of Tear. They both tell Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne that the other Black sisters are probably heading for Tanchico, where Liandrin believes an object resides that could be used against Rand. The Black sisters also intend to free Mazraim Taim, a false dragon, who has recently been captured by Aes Sedai and is en route to Tar Valon.

Chapter 6

Moiraine is encouraging Rand to attack the city-state of Illian, where the Forsaken known as Sammael rules the city. Rand has hidden himself away, reading from prophecy books. Moiraine tells Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne about a ter'angreal stored in the hold of the Stone. It is a doorway that will answer three questions with truth.
