When Daniel arrives home that night, he finds Fermin asleep in his bed. Fermin had gone to have dinner with Daniel's father and had got drowsy due to the medicines he was taking. Daniel sleeps on his father's arm chair. The next day it pours with rain and Daniel waits by the phone all day for Bea to call him. The following days increase Daniel's anxiety. A whole week goes by and no call from Bea.

Still no news from Bea, Daniel is desperate. He goes to the university, where he is told by her friends that they think she is ill. Though Beatriz had told Daniel not to phone her, he does call her. The call is answered by Bea's father, who by the silence on.....
