Chapters 17-22 Summary

In Chapter 17, the group begins the trip to the First Nome. During this trip, Ra takes Zia as his new vessel. Carter is shocked by this, but the others are pleased that they will now have Ra on their side since Ra is the only one who has ever successfully beaten Apophis. When they arrive at the First Nome, they find Apophis has already risen. Ra engages Apophis while Carter and the others go into the First Nome to stop the battle raging there. They find the members of the First Nome, the few who remain, and the members of Brooklyn House in battle with Jacobi's troops. Carter and his friends join in and quickly defeat Jacobi's rebels. They then make their way into the inner chamber where Jacobi is fighting Amos. Amos is channeling Set.
