Summary

Chapter 14 is “Lydia.” Lydia returns home and complains about life in such a small town. Her father points out that she would have been a different person if they had lived in a large city. Denny grew up in Forrestville, and says he was popular because he was nice to everyone. However, he did not have any two friends as loyal as Dill and Travis are toward Lydia. Lydia then says she hates that Dill and Travis are simply going to remain in Forrestville. Denny says she is “being haughty” about their choices, and that it is alright for people to choose quiet lives. He also points out that not everyone has the choices she has. Denny then reveals to Lydia a piece of information that he is not supposed to tell anyone. He had replaced Travis's two front teeth a few years...
