Thomas

Thomas is the main character and principal protagonist of James Dashner's novel, "The Scorch Trials." Thomas appears to be in his late teens, is unfailingly kind, gentle, moral, but is often prone to despair and unhappiness. A Runner from the Maze, Thomas has the ability to communicate telepathically with Teresa, a teenaged girl for whom he has romantic feelings. Thomas and the other Gladers are rescued from the Maze and then sent into the Scorch Trials, in which they have two weeks to reach a safe haven and receive a cure for the Flare disease, which they all have. Thomas proves to be the sound mind and source of reason for both his group, and for Group B.
