Summary

Sophie questions who the spy might be and she believes it could not possibly be Hort. She then watches Aric while Rafal arrives and startles her. She tells him class went well and he invites her to a private lunch. She silently admits that she is distracted by all the boys. Rafal leaves and Sophie goes to the roof. There,she finds the menagerie depicting Tedros and Agatha’s story. She finds a depiction of Agatha and Tedros kissing, but when she touches it, her body erupts a blistering rash. Professor Manley finds her and tells her to go to the Boy’s Groom Room before praising her on her decision to revive Rafal. She jumps into the steam bath and her ailment begins to disappear.
