Chapter 2, Lullabies of Broadway Summary

Hazel knocks on Barbie's door, wanting to talk. She is afraid that she is pregnant, because she had sex with a waiter from work six weeks ago when she was drunk, and her period is late. Hazel thought she would be fine because they had sex standing up. When Barbie suggests that Hazel get a pregnancy test, Hazel states that she was told you have to kill a rabbit, but Barbie assures her that modern pregnancy tests are just a blue line. Hazel asks if Barbie was ever pregnant, and Barbie confesses that she had an abortion in high school. She advises Hazel to never let a guy stay the night unless she plans on sleeping with him.
