Summary

Part Six, “Edgelanders,” begins with Chapter 18, titled “Alive.” Ray and Moth return to the path. They take a ferry from Poole and snap a photo at the market post that says 630 miles from South Haven Point to Minehead. This time, they are starting at the end point and heading back west towards Polruan, where they abruptly stopped almost a year ago. Only 250 miles left to go. At first, Moth struggles physically. However, it feels right to be back. They make friends with two backpackers along the way, Julie and Dave, who they will bump into coincidentally at odd times throughout this chapter. They walk along cliffs, dazzling white against the turquoise sea. Soon, they reach their first milestone, Lulworth. Next, they arrive in the urban area of Weymouth and have ice cream. Ray falls ill and Moth takes her to a hotel to rest...
