Praying for God's protection

Throughout the book, many characters pray for God's protection in their lives. Michael prayed that he would arrive at Christine's cabin despite being shot and taking pain medication. He was seriously hurt and ran off the road. God provided a friendly helper that pulled his vehicle out of the snow bank.

Annie prays when she is fearful of an unknown visitor arriving at the cabin. She does not know whom it is and the person did not make it to the door of the cabin.
