Summary

In Chapter 31, Gene, Inge and Don worked together to get a reservation for Don and Rosie at the Momofuku Ko. As he walked up to the apartment building to meet Rosie, a man approached holding two cups of coffee. When Don saw that the man planned to wait until Don had entered his access code so he could slip into the building, Don kept him from doing so. On a whim Don asked the man if he was there to see George. The man said he was George’s son, the recovering drug addict. Don accompanied him to George’s apartment. There was no answer. The man said he’d wait, which Don didn’t think he could allow. He also believed if the man left, he wouldn’t come back.
