Blue light

Blue light is the primary indicator of the presence of an Immortal. The Immortals, in addition to the Vessels they occupy, give off a blue light that in turn gives them away. Immortals can easily be identified by that blue light, so Immortals needing to function undercover often resort to things like sunglasses in order to conceal their true nature.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses symbolize deception and are worn by the police officers of town to conceal their true identities as Immortals in Vessels. The sunglasses prevent people from seeing their blue-glowing eyes, which indicate they are immortals. Mikey and Henna are surrounded by a group of police officers at night, all wearing sunglasses, tipping them off that the police are not their normal selves.
