Summary

“Chapter the Fourteenth” (Chapter 14) – A preface to this chapter reveals the Prince declaring his love for Satchel but Satchel doubting. They kiss, but then an explosion can be heard on the outskirts of town. In the main section of the chapter, Meredith is stunned to learn that her mother wants to take her to the Bolts of Fire concert. Meredith begs her mother to let Mikey and Mel take her and her mother ultimately consents. Mikey, Mel, and Meredith head to the concert. The audience goes wild as the show begins. Meredith is so happy she cries. The show is being done to benefit a cancer patient, young Carly. As the band takes the stage, a bomb goes off. People begin fleeing for the exits, trying to protect the children among them. Mel helps one of the little girls escape while Mikey carries Meredith...
