Survival Instinct

People are being killed in the Museum of Natural History. As a result, the people are afraid. People stop coming to see the exhibits and the employees begin calling in sick in record numbers. No one knows what is terrorizing the museum, they just know that they do not want to be next on its list. This is an example of a survival instinct, of people avoiding danger in order to avoid dying.

Another example of this survival instinct is the creature itself. The creature was created in the Amazon where a group of Indians, believed to be extinct, fed a man a plant infected with an unusual virus that caused the man to become physically changed, to become stronger and animalistic, and to become addicted to the properties of the plant.
