Part 1, Museum of Unnatural Mystery: Chapters 3-9 Summary

In chapter three, two boys lost in the Museum of Natural History wander into the basement.

In chapter four, Margo Green arrives at the Museum of Natural History where she is working on her dissertation to discover that the police are there. It seems someone has been murdered in the museum. Margo goes to the employee lounge with a fellow student, Gregory Kawakita, where she catches sight of another co-worker with blood on his shoes.

In chapter five, the police allow the museum employees to return to work. William Smithback, a writer, comes into the room and tells Margo that two boys were found murdered in the basement and that the police believe some kind of animal might have done it. Margo goes with Smithback to the great rotunda to listen...
