Chapters 3 and 4 Summary

In Chapter Three, Temple arrives at the city, located in Georgia, to find it apparently deserted except for the meatskins. She walks toward some tall buildings in the town and along the way discovers a jewelry shop. She stops and looks in the window, knowing there was a time when people coveted these things. She catches a glimpse of movement in the reflection of the jewelry store window and turns quickly. She finds a man who'd mistaken her for a zombie because she'd been standing still for so long. The man is handsome, in his thirties, freshly shaven and alert. He calls to his friends and Temple is quickly surrounded by a group of about a dozen. They note that she's covered in blood and want to make sure she isn't bitten. She assures them she isn't. They head back toward...
