Summary

George believes that the disappearance of his daughter Sophie was the catalyst that began the economic crisis they were in. Before Michelle left him, she’d informed everyone in town that Sophie wasn’t his, and he immediately became ‘poor George’ in everyone’s minds. Now, having been sober for six weeks, he is determined to help Sara with the bookstore, and to rid himself of that moniker once and for all.
