Summary
In Chapter 7, Lucy has been in Venice for a few days, and goes to her first group therapy session for women with depression and issues with love and sex. The group consists of: Dr Jude, the therapist, who Lucy notes was “deeply single and trying to be at peace with it”; Amber, who Lucy names Chickenhorse, who was furthest along in “doing the work” and therefore “seemed to get aroused by telling all of us we were wrong”; Sara, who was allergic to everything and massages her “crusty” bare feet during the session; Brianne, who had so much plastic surgery done to her face that it was puffy; and finally, Claire, a crass married British woman, who likes to sleep with younger men (28-29).
