Summary

In Chapter 9, narrated by Hannah, Janie panicked when she and Christopher tried to put Janie in the car seat for her trip to the park. Janie agreed to ride in the seat only after Christopher got into the back seat with her. Still, she had an angry pout on her face.

As Hannah watched Christopher play with Janie, she felt pained because she could not give him a child of their own. He had never completely understood how hard it had been for her.
