Summary

One night, one of the facility employees seems to take a sudden, inexplicable dislike to Norah. One day, the employee follows Norah around the hall and mews at her like a cat. The other employees do so as well, and Mama Strong deducts 20 points from Norah. Norah realizes that Mama Strong can tell that Norah has a secret. Mama Strong focuses heavily on Norah and encourages the other girls to gang up on Norah. Norah loses all of her points, and her life at the facility becomes even worse, but she remains determined not to give up her secret of the Pelican Bar. More girls disappear form the facility, until Norah is the person in her group who has been at the facility the longest. One new arrival is a girl named Chloe who, as an effect of being denied her medication, is uncontrollably...
