Chapters 34 through 42 Summary

In chapter thirty-four, Della arrives at the station where Paul and Allison are stopped with the banana wagons. She knows that those in charge are not doing everything necessary to ensure that an attack does not occur. The Authority believes they have about a day before the attack will occur and Della is working off that information, though she believes in her own ability to ferret out new information that might confirm or contradict that. Della is approaching the banana wagon and senses that there is something wrong when Wili instructs Mike to kick out the side of the wagon and run, taking Allison with him. He obeys without a second thought or clear instructions and Della rushes to an aircraft, rushing the lift off. As she rises, she notes that she at least has not been bobbled.
