Summary

In Chapter 28, when Peter found Alicia, she was crying. Alicia admitted to Peter that she should not have gone over the wall but that she lost her head when she saw the girl. Alicia said Household was thinking of putting Caleb out, the worst punishment. People were scared and wanted someone to blame for Teacher’s death. Caleb was an easy target because he had no family. She said she would support Caleb no matter what.

Peter and Alicia next went to lockup where they found a small crowd gathered around Dale Levine, the man employed with watching the jail. Sam Chou and Milo Darrell seemed to be the leaders of the group of parents wanting to punish Caleb.
