Summary

Peter started to boil the coffee. He then approached Anna and kissed her. She did not refuse, so they proceeded to Judy’s room to escalate to more intimate pursuits. Afterwards, Peter “rewarded” (50) Anna with kisses, Anna realized that the coffee had boiled over, so Peter started a new pot. When he returned, he helped Anna put on her elaborate dress with “innumerable buttons” (50).

Peter suggested that he and Anna spend time together more often, and they flirted for a short while before Peter asked her who paid for her apartment once again. Finally, Anna told Peter that her husband paid for the apartment. Peter was furious, demanding to know why she cheated on her husband, making a “donkey” (51) out of her husband and himself.
