Part Two, The Girl Next Door: Now, Christmas 1997 Summary

Michael goes to the jail to see Chris. They talk for a short time, but Chris refuses to talk about that night because of the warnings Jordan made to him. Michael does not seem to mind. Michael only wants to be with someone who loved Emily, too. At the grocery store again, Gus runs into Melanie. Gus tries to talk to her, but Melanie runs away. Jordan comes to the jail to go over the evidence with Chris. The prosecutor has given Jordan piles of paperwork that he and Chris go over together. They discuss the gun, which Chris admits getting out of his dad's gun case, and the trajectory of the bullet through Emily's head, suggesting someone else held the gun.
