Pippa and Emily live in a cozy apartment together for years. In Lee, a suburb of London. Their schedules do not constantly match, so they never find themselves annoyed with one another. They like to spend their evenings watching television and eating chocolates together.

Pammie lives alone in a cottage in Sevenoaks, which is in the country outside London. Pammie's cottage is quaint and small. The first time Emily comes over, she is made to gorge herself on a full Christmas meal after already eating one, which sours her on the place. When Adam and Pammie leave her alone in the house, she snoops through the place and looks at old photographs of Pammie. She finds an inhaler hidden with a picture of Rebecca.
