Summary

In Chapter 20, Emily took advantage of the fact that they had finally made love and asked Adam again about Rebecca. He said he met her when he was 20. When he was 25, they moved in together, but Rebecca had an asthma attack and died when she could not find her inhaler. Pammie had loved Rebecca, and she had found her body and called the paramedics, but it was too late. Emily asked if they would still be together if Rebecca had lived, and Adam got angry and left the bedroom.
