Nassun

Nassun is the daughter of Essun and Jija. She is the character who undergoes a coming of age experience as she learns to accept that her father will never love her in the same way since he now knows that she is an orogene. She also learns more about the Fulcrum and comes to a better understanding of her mother’s attitude toward her. Nassun realizes the training methods her mother used were copied from the Fulcrum, not constructed specifically for Nassun because she was willful or disobedient.

Nassun is taken to a place called Found Moon, a school run by three Guardians all of whom seem disturbed because Jija believes Nassun will be cured of orogeny there. Instead, Schaffa recognizes her abilities and believes that she can help correct the mistake he and other Guardians made of enslaving orogenes. Schaffa encourages Nassun to stay away from her...
