Summary

Chapter 4 opens with a description of Horace Tudhope, a man who claimed to have seen Spinks the year previously, so he could not have died years earlier like Barlow had claimed. After this, doubts began to creep in about the truth of Charlie's book. Perhaps Barlow was not really Barlow at all but just a lying Spinks, who had made up this whole story to Charlie. Charlie went on an interview show with the man who originally claimed that Spinks was not dead, in which they debated about the identity of Spinks/Barlow. A news program also ran a story in which a reporter traveled to Canada to interview Spinks/Barlow's neighbors, all of whom knew him as Spinks.
