Summary

In Part 4, Chapter 3, Molly returns to the basement and listens to the sounds coming from above her. It is Sunday. David is still out of town. In Chapter 4, in the afternoon, Moll and the children go for a walk. Molly furtively watches them from the house and then proceeds to follow them. In Chapter 5, Molly watches in secret as Moll and the children play at the nearby playground. Molly wonders to what extent grief is affecting Moll’s actions/perspective. In Chapter 6, that evening, Moll tells Molly that if she follows her again, she will kill her. Molly cannot tell if Moll is being serious. David is scheduled to return in six days.
