Summary

Chapter 62, "Reunions," is the first chapter of Part Three. Ana and Sally return to Lisbon after a three-week voyage. They know what ships Alphonse Morro might have taken and that he should be back in Lisbon soon, if he is coming and if they are correct about his false identity. Luigi says Sally should write down her adventures. She says she did not take it seriously at the time, but believes the idea was waiting in the back of her mind. One evening, Sally and Ana go to the prison where Ana sings while Henry plays the accordion. Sally is very happy.

In Chapter 63, "Waiting," Sally spends a lot of time hoping Alphonse will arrive. One day, Luigi looks into passports issued for a man named Alfredo Simao. He learns that no one by that name has traveled out of Lisbon. Coupled...
