Summary

In Chapter 24, "Fabulous Forzini," an American named Giuseppe Forzini arrives in Lisbon to perform. He asks Luigi to build him a new accordion. Luigi believes the accordions with piano keys – like Forzini plays – are substandard instruments, and he refuses. Forzini returns with his accordion and plays for Luigi, who then agrees to make Forzini's next accordion. Luigi takes Forzini to meet Ana who sings for him. Forzini decides that Ana should perform at his upcoming concert at the Teatro Maria Vitoria. Ana agrees.

In Chapter 25, "Farol do Bugio," Forzini makes the first payment on his new accordion. Luigi pays for a holiday, with Ana and Sally accompanying him. Sally often watches the street at night, hoping that Alphonse will show up.
