Part 3, Meet Crazy Eddie: Chapter 32, Lenin Summary

Rod is escorted to Lenin's bridge. The Captain sees Lenin's boats pull away from MacArthur and realizes the end is near. While everyone watches and waits, nothing happens. The weapons do not detonate.

Admiral Kutuzov fires on the other ship and the changes made to the Langston Field are discovered. The aliens contact the Lenin. The aliens report the three lifeboats attempted re-entry to the planet and were destroyed by the atmosphere. The two senior officers want to see a copy of the tape the aliens claim they have regarding this situation; both believe it's a lie. Once the field completely overloads, Lenin is able to destroy MacArthur. The remaining warship is headed home.
