Max Crumbly

Max is the main character of the novel and the owner of the diary used to tell the story. Max is highly artistic, as shown by his various drawings throughout his diary depicting important events or moments in the novel. He also has a powerful imagination, and often depicts certain events as if he were in a comic book and dramatizes certain events (such as flying on a skateboard or busting through his locker like a superhero). Max also holds a very negative self image that he tries to hide through depictions of himself as a superhero or by reminding the reader that other superheroes have problems too.
