Part Three, Chapters 6-11 Summary

In Chapter Six, Brandy requests to go to the Presbyterian church. Rachael takes her, though the service is lackluster for Brandy. Rachael introduces her to the TV, and Brandy is mesmerized. The cleaning crew comes to the house, and Brandy is sent to see Gale Sampson. She determines that Shay does not have amnesia, and her symptoms are more similar to culture shock.

In Chapter Seven, Brandy's life is controlled by the television. Marek leaves for Wyoming because his mother is dying. Brandy thinks she is falling in love with Marek. After a visit to the doctor, everyone discovers Brandy is two months' pregnant. Rachael discusses the possibility of abortion, horrifying Brandy.
