Summary

Chapter 38 begins with another one of Curtis’s dreams. He is walking with Stanley and Damon when there is an explosion, and Curtis jumps in front of a bullet. The sound of his phone ringing wakes him up, and he sees that the Whistler is calling. The Whistler says that he wants to meet right now. He tells Curtis to go to the parking garage at the Flamingo, where he is waiting in a cab. He tells Curtis not to call anyone or bring anyone with him. He threatens to shoot him and anyone else he brings if he disobeys. He also tells Curtis to bring at least a couple hundred dollars cash. Curtis agrees and hangs up. Curtis assumes it is a set up, because Argos would not have said any of that in front of a cab driver.
