Chapter Fifty-Three

Newt told Thomas and Teresa that all the Keepers agreed to go. Now they had to convince the Gladers. Newt didn’t think that all of the Gladers would be for it. Some would stay and take their chances. Newt wasn’t sure what Alby would do. He seemed so scared to go back home. But Newt would try to convince Alby to go with them. Maybe tell him that they’d find another part of the world to live in. the next step was to figure out who was going and who was staying.

Most of the Gladers ended up agreeing to go, including Alby. Only a few decided to stay. Backpacks with supplies and food and water were handed out to everyone. Syringes of Grief Serum were included in the supplies. Minho and several other Runners did some preliminary...
