The North

French's group and many other Native Americans are headed north, believing that the effects of the societal collapse have not had the same effect in the far north. The weather is predictably colder and creates hazards that are dangerous for the group. For example, they all tend to develop coughs each year, and they struggle to get over the symptoms.
