Summary

In Chapter 52, Kate returns and goes silently to her room. The electricity goes off, which is a fairly common problem in the old house. Isa finds an email from Owen that lists dates and offenses, and she knows this is Luc's police record. Isa is furious that Owen believes she is capable of having an affair though she accepts that she has cast suspicion on herself by lying about other things. Isa does not trust herself to respond to Owen.

In Chapter 53, Isa goes to the pub in the village for dinner. She is suddenly aware that the blackmailer could be watching her.
