Peer Pressure, Chapters 16-19 Summary

Chapter 16 opens with Mavis despairing about how her business at the Saloon has plummeted. Les' wife calls looking for him. Mavis encourages Catfish to play louder so the customers will drink more. Molly crashes Les' truck into the dumpster behind the saloon. Walking home, she sees Katie and Marge approaching Steve. Molly stops them from getting eaten and sends them home. The sound of Catfish's electric guitar reaches them, which makes Steve angry. Theo goes to see Joseph Leander and blurts out his suspicions that Joseph has killed his wife. Joseph does not admit anything and asks Theo to leave.

In Chapter 17, Molly takes Steve to look for cows for food. While Theo is driving to Molly's place, the Spider calls him to warn him about his interview with Joseph. Sheriff Burton calls as well and threatens...
