Chapter 14 Summary

Chapter fourteen deals with the aftermath of Robin's death. Everyone in the Harper household as well as the school are very sad. Georgie cannot feel anything but sorrow. He does not know what to do with himself. Sister Mary Angela asks him to sing at the funeral because Mrs. Harper wishes it. Georgie tries to sing, but cannot get the words to come out and runs away at the funeral. After the funeral, there is a small service for Robin at Mrs. Harper's house. Once everyone leaves, Georgie runs to the garden and digs out his rosebush. He then lugs the rosebush over to Robin's grave site. Georgie begins digging.
